Does AI understand your brand?
Coyle Emerald Narratives is an AI visibility and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) consultancy that helps B2B technology companies get understood, cited, and recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude.
AI visibility starts with clarity.
AI systems can’t recommend a company they don’t clearly understand. Coyle Emerald Narratives (CEN) helps B2B technology companies strengthen the clarity, authority, and third-party credibility that influence how they are represented, cited, and recommended in AI answers.
Who we work with.
CEN works with cybersecurity, SaaS, fintech, and AI/ML companies whose buyers now research vendors by asking AI systems. In these categories, products are complex, competitors sound alike, and AI answers often default to the biggest brands. We help growth-stage companies earn their place in those answers.
Measurable gains in AI visibility.
In a recent client engagement, CEN increased AI visibility, measured by the frequency of mentions across AI systems, by 130% and improved AI recommendability by 92%. We did this by increasing earned media mentions and executive thought leadership opportunities.
How CEN strengthens AI visibility.
CEN aligns the signals AI systems use to understand, trust, cite, and recommend B2B technology companies.
-
See how AI platforms currently understand, cite, and recommend your company. Identify the gaps limiting your visibility.
-
Strengthen the narrative, evidence, and third-party authority signals that help AI systems recognize and trust your expertise.
-
Track how your company appears across leading AI platforms and use the findings to improve visibility and recommendability.
What is GEO?
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of improving how AI systems understand, describe, and recommend a company. Traditional SEO earns rankings in search results. GEO earns mentions and citations inside AI-generated answers, which depend heavily on clear positioning, consistent facts, and credible third-party sources.
GEO is not the second wave of SEO. It brings together the narrative, visibility, and authority signals found in earned media, thought leadership, comparison documentation, and analyst reviews. One element of GEO is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), in which a company is found and cited by AI search engines.
CEN helps B2B technology companies apply GEO and AEO so they are accurately represented, cited, and recommended in AI-generated answers.

FAQs
-
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) targets search rankings. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the practice of improving how AI systems describe, cite, and recommend a company. There are some connections between the two, and good SEO does help with GEO. But strong SEO rankings do not guarantee a presence in AI search. Appearing relies on building third-party authority and having consistent messaging and brand identity.
-
A company should run searches on the AI search engines, such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, to see how it appears. Ideally, the searches should be done in incognito mode, using the questions that a buyer would ask. The company should track whether it appears, how it is described, and which sources are cited. If a company does not appear, it should look to build its presence in AI search. CEN’s NEXUS-GEO™ audit measures these signals, and we advise companies on how to increase their AI search presence.
-
ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Claude are the ones CEN typically measures. We also track Grok, Meta AI, and Copilot, depending on the project.
-
NEXUS-GEO™ is CEN's proprietary scoring methodology for measuring how AI systems understand, cite, and recommend a company.
-
Results depend on your company's current AI visibility, competitive position, and the changes required. Improvements to website content may become visible within weeks, while building the third-party authority and earned media presence needed for consistent AI recommendations typically takes several months. CEN measures progress over time rather than promising rankings or recommendations.
